Crown Bluetooth Speakers

The Crown Royal Bluetooth Speaker

These days, wireless bluetooth audio peripherals are all the rage and it’s not hard to see why. With prices for these nifty gadgets being lower than ever, the bluetooth speaker and headphone market is real. But perhaps you’re looking for a bluetooth speaker that just does a little bit more than the rest. Maybe you’d prefer to relax and listen to music from a glowing cylinder sits near your jacuzzi, chilling your drinks and holding your keys? If you said yes to these specific prompts, then do we have a surprise for you.

The Crown Royal Bluetooth Speaker, with its regal name and whatnot, is one of the most surprisingly original concepts we’ve seen for a bluetooth speaker. The idea comes from one Finnish man by the name of Jarno Voutilainen. After the renovation of his own sauna, Jarno felt that the place needed a dimly lit sauna pail. With this in mind, the man went on to use his knowledge of engineering to actually make a basic version of this concept. Eventually he got around to incorporating a speaker into the mix, and a few tests and patents later the Crown was born.

Now, you may be saying “Sure it’s a nifty idea, but what exactly makes it a better product?”. Well, the Crown also happens to be quite impressive outside of its lights and features too. The speaker comes with 360° surround sound support as a result of the cylindrical design and durable ABS body. The RGB lighting in the Crown is sound reactive, which makes for some pretty cool light shows. It’s waterproof, heatproof and coldproof as you’d expect from a jacuzzi and sauna pail, but it also can double as power bank when needed.

The makers claim that the Crown has enough battery to last 10 hours, which is fairly impressive. There’s even a motion sensor on the bottom, though its use is relegated to simply turning on a light on the bottom of the speaker when lifted. Outside of that, it comes with all the typical bluetooth speaker bells and whistles. On the speaker end of things, the Crown comes with two full frequency 2 x 8 W speakers and a 25 W subwoofer.

If you’re in the market for a brand new bluetooth speaker, the Crown will currently set you back at $169 on Kickstarter. After the 10 $169 units are gone however, you’ll need to cough up $219 for the speaker. This pales in comparison to the future SRP however, which is apparently going to be $359, nearly double the backer price! The Kickstarter is currently sitting at $8,169 with a goal of $10,000 and only 25 days to go, so if you’re interested you’ll want to be quick!
