This pens started with a great refill; more specifically, the founders admired the Schmidt P8126 rollerball refill. So much so, that they designed a pen around it.
If you pre-order the Mark One body on Kickstarter, you can easily find the refills available from Schmidt. It sounds like the Mark One also accepts many other easy to find refills as well.
For the click mechanism, they’re using an all metal design they created themselves. This provides a click, that they’re very proud of. The entire
pen is made of metal, claiming to be the first 100% metal pen on the market. The matte look and feel, comes from it’s ceramic-polymer coating.
The team behind the Mark One, are also the successful founders of the Panobook. This builds trust that they’ll be able to deliver again. They’re doing well on their crowdfunding campaign as they’ve already raised over $135k of their $30k goal and still have 36 days remaining. You can find their campaign here: http://kck.st/2HKv3Kp
